If you are looking for a remote get-away in the Mountains, consider Forest Lake. South of Lennep off of Highway 294, Forest Lake is on an eleven mile Forest Service Road through the mountains. The eleven miles is a very narrow, rough and rocky road that takes around an hour to drive. When you reach Forest Lake, the campground will be up the mountain to the right of the main road, and the lake is a steep hiking trail down from the main road where the campground road intersects.
