PROSPECTOR'S DAUGHTER DIGS UP A COMICAL SAGA

September 27, 2023

For the 20th year the ever popular dinner theatre presented by Friends of Musselshell School, Inc and enhanced by the spectacular talents of the Illustrious Musselshell Players will be presented two nights, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, and again SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 at the Musselshell School. Each evening will feature dinner and the two-act hilarious old-fashioned melodrama, The Saga of the Prospector’s Daughter, or She Was Only a Miner’s Minor, written by Pat Cook. A matinee performance will be presented on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1.

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE DINNER THEATRE. The cost is $25.00 per person for a dinner and theatre performance. Reserve your seat(s) by calling Ken Eickhoff (406-947-5200). If there is no answer, leave a detailed message. All messages will receive a return call. Seating is limited and tickets are sold on a first come first served basis with payment required in advance.

Dinner theatre evenings begin at 5:30 pm when the Illustrious Musselshell Players open the doors and begin seating guests on the main floor of the historical Musselshell School. The three course dinner begins with a marinated bean salad and a basket of honey butter glazed biscuits on the table. The main course will be a bed of home-style egg noodles smothered with creamy chicken and fresh steamed broccoli on the side. Dessert will feature fudge sundae cake adorned with a generous dollop of whipped cream lightly drizzled with mint sauce.

Directly following dinner the audience will join the Illustrious Musselshell Players in the

upstairs auditorium where they will do their best to follow the saga of the lovely, innocent

Constance Purdy who is about to lose her home to that low-down, lying, two-faced, doubledealing, back-stabbing villain-about town, Wiley Schlink. The audience can only hope that Monroe Mannerly will be a hero and rescue Purdy just in time while they ask themselves, “Where is Purdy’s long-lost father?” Their question(s) will not be readily answered because they

will be laughing too hard at the lady Sheriff, who has a mortgage on her jail, the Medicine Man, who comes on stage in a dress, and the crazed saloon-smashing suffragette bearing an ax. If you think you get the picture just wait until some of the actors are caught napping, and others are playing cards between acts! Come join this fun-loving 14-member cast as they attempt to recreate The Saga of the Prospector’s Daughter. The cast includes the talents of Lynn Rettig, Sherie Milburn, Ralph Goffena, Scott Praye, Ken Eickhoff, Silvia Metzger, Virginia Carlson, Robert Wayman, Morgan Adkins, Reva Dewitt, Nan Rademacher, Melissa Carlson, Joanie Rettig, Loren Carlson, and Kay Rosin is the piano player with an attitude. The show is also enhanced by the prompter, Teresa Porter, and photographer, Sandy Vongries.

Reservations are NOT required to attend the Sunday matinee. The cost of the matinee is $10.00 per person (preschool free). The curtain goes up promptly at 2 pm. Coffee and treats are served in the main hall after the matinee.
