Local Adults and Teens Work Together To Paint Murals

The High School and Junior High students came together and decided to sign up for the Montana Meth Project. This is a statewide contest that gives students and adults the opportunity to paint the state (your community) with a message of not using or trying Meth. The theme is "Not Even Once". The murals are being painted on both carwashes on Main Street. Students have the opportunity to win up to $10,000 or more! The students have shared some great ideas of how they would like to use the money if they win! It includes giving back, which just shows how great Roundup's youth are!

The carwash mural on the South end of Main Street is being painted by Julianne Landgren. The carwash mural at the North end of Main Street is being painted under the direction of local art teacher Mrs. Unterseher by the following students, Skyler Hamilton, Ciannon, Trent Hamilton, Thaiden Godfrey, Caitlin Barber, and Ayden Mozqueda. Helping with the project is Angie Mozqueda (Prevention Specialist), Deputy Gatlin (off duty), who showed up to help and brough an extra ladder.

This group of students began their painting Thursday June 22. Feel free to come out and watch as they create and paint. Special thanks to Eric Elliasson for lending his scaffolding to reach the top. Good luck to both murals.
