Mildred, or as she was known to many as Granny, was born March 23, 1928 to J. Jalmar and Lillie (Bell) Harmala in Roberts , MT and passed away May 14, 2022. She attended Cottonwood Grade School and graduated from Roberts High School in May of 1944. She moved to Billings that June and worked for Consolidated Freightways and Farmer's Union. She met the love of her life, Arnold Alt, in June of 1946 and they were married on February 9, 1947. In December of that year they moved to the Alt Ranch north of Roundup, which they later purchased.
