MARCH

March 3 - A delicious meal of roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy, seven layered salad, and dessert clean-up was enjoyed by all.

March 10 - Our menu today was taco soup, French bread, fresh fruit, and a cookie variety for dessert. There were twenty-four present and 6 take-out meals. Kim and her husband Leo were with her father Jack in Lewistown. Russ and Luann were also absent. They were with Grandma Mert in Roundup. Vice-President Ginger called the meeting to order after the meal. Raye Anne gave an update on Donna. She is still in the hospital in Billings. Ginger gave an update on Jack. He is in the hospital in Lewistown. Joan Murphy was here to enjoy seniors with us. It is always nice to see her.

There will be a public school meeting tonight in the cafeteria of the school. It will begin at 5:00 with a meeting on the transportation and bus routes. Then at 6:00 there will be a discussion on moving to a 4-day school week. Everyone is invited to attend. Don’t forget to turn your clocks back this Saturday night. We will lose an hour so turn your clocks ahead an hour. There will be bingo in the courthouse basement on Sunday afternoon. CMMC will be here on March 14 for a foot clinic. If you would like an appointment, please contact Linda G. She will schedule you in. Cassie won the 50/50 for $8.00. After dishes were done and chores finished, cards were played.

March 17 - Twenty-seven members and 8 take-out orders enjoyed a St. Paddy’s dad meal of corned beef, mashed potatoes with cabbage and carrots, Pistachio salad and green cupcakes. Lots of updates on some of our members who can’t be with us today. Luann gave an update on Mert, Kim gave an update on Jack, Raye Anne gave an update on Donna. All of them are still in the hospitals – Mert in Roundup, Jack in Lewistown, and Donna in Billings. It was also brought to our attention that Joie Heitz is in the hospital in Lewistown. She has pneumonia and has been there for a couple of weeks. Also, Richard Stahl is still in the Billings Clinic and doing better. Dave Grantier had been in the hospital in Billings but is home now. They are working at trying to get his diabetic numbers down and doing dialysis. Thankful he is able to be home, now.

There is no bingo on Sunday the 27th of March. We will start again in April.

We all want to send our sympathy and condolences to Ginger. Her brother in law who lives in South Dakota was killed in an avalanche. We also send our sympathy to Ginger’s sister and family who lost their husband and father.

Vicki from Area II was here today and passed out pamphlets. Murry Lou is the new coordinator at Area II. She was recruited by Florence before she died and is now taking over some of Florence’s duties and getting more involved with Area II. Thank you for coming Murry Lou. She gave an update on some Medicare scams. She left us know that there are no chip cards or laminated cards coming out. Do not give your Medicare numbers to anyone. Medicare will never ask for numbers over the phone. Also, SHIP stands for State Health Insurance Program. They are here to help those who have questions about their insurance.

Gary and Linda did a special song for us in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Gary played the piano and Linda played the violin and they did “Danny Boy”. It was beautiful. Thank you, Gary and Linda!

March 24 - Today is celebrate March birthday meal. We had oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes with milk gravy, lettuce salad, cranberries, with ice cream and cake. We had one birthday in March to celebrate. Happy Birthday, Dellie. Georgia brought some special guests, her grandson and his wife, Randy and Jen Nunn. Glad to see both Randy and Jen.

Leo Solf passed away yesterday. We send our sympathy to Leo’s wife Darlene and family and all his friends. He had been in the nursing home in Lewistown for several months. Jack Barsich is in Room 8 at Valle Vista Nursing Home in Lewistown. He is hanging in there and likes to teach all the nurses. Joie Heitz is still in the hospital and not doing very well. Mert passed away and her funeral will be Saturday, April 9 at Cloyd’s in Lewistown at 11:00. The reception will be at seniors in Winnett at 2:00. The family will provide the meat, it will be potluck for salads, and desserts. Patti will be at seniors that morning so anyone wanting to leave their dish here for the reception can bring it in.

Linda told a funny story about an accident she had at home Friday night. The toilet tank broke and of course flooded everywhere. So, Gary and Linda had the pleasure of mopping and cleaning up water from a flooded toilet. No one was hurt. Linda won the 50/50 for $11.00. That made her feel better about having a flooded house. After dishes were done, cards were played.

March 31 - We enjoyed breakfast casserole, blueberry muffins, fresh fruit cup, and raisin filled oatmeal bars for our lunch.

I wasn’t here today so I don’t have any information on the meeting. See you next week.

APRIL

April 7 - Twenty-five members and six take-out orders enjoyed Ranch House meatballs, baked potatoes, salad, with pudding cups for dessert.

Murry Lou and Amanda were here today from Area II. They wanted to thank everyone for their take-out meals and hard work at preparing the meals and delivering meals at the beginning of the Covid pandemic. There is a covid relief fund called the American Rescue Plan Act, that will match funding, so they did not ask for funding. She gave information on the funding and commodities. There will be bingo on April 24. We look forward to getting back into our bingo fun. Mert’s service will be Saturday the 9th at 11:00 at Cloyd’s. Reception will be at 2 here at seniors. Patti will be here at 9:00 if want to leave something here. The door will be unlocked. Updates were given on Donna and Jack. Ralph gave a PCCC update. The concrete is supposed to be poured today. There is good progress being made on the building. The quilting day tomorrow (the 8th) has been cancelled. Leo won the 50/50 for $8.50. There will be a short board meeting after lunch. Leo, Russ, and Steve set up tables on the other side of the basement in preparation for the reception after Mert’s funeral. Clean-up was finished and dishes done, then cards were played.

April 14 - No seniors due to inclement weather

April 28 - Oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes with milk gravy, salad, cranberries, birthday cake and ice cream was on the menu for lunch. Raye Anne worked for Cassie today. It is a busy time of year for everyone from getting ready for the end of the school year to calving, lambing, plowing, planting and all other spring work. Stay safe, have fun. See you in May.
