Laurita Marion Welsh,

90, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 30, in her home in Roundup, Montana. She and her beloved husband, Egbert (Butch) Welsh, celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on June 28.

Born in Rileyville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ivan W and Marie Bolkcom Stevenson. She had two sons, Terry and Dale Bryant, to her first husband.

Upon marriage to Egbert, a dairy farmer, they moved to Sherburne, NY, then Colby, WI, and finally they retired in 2010 to a small beef cattle ranch in Roundup, MT. Throughout her life, she worked various jobs at the Silver Lake House, Wayne Meats, Colgate University, and Colby School District. She took immense pride in her work and in her home. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining visitors.

Laurita had a love and talent for quilting. Her hand sewing was amazing. She was an active member of several quilting guilds and won awards for her creative artwork. Her beautiful work has been admired by many, and her family and friends have been gifted with bed quilts, wall hangings, table runners, and much more.

Above all, she loved her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She was a gracious host to many and enjoyed keeping in touch with her family and friends across the country through letters and phone calls. She received over 100 birthday cards from 21 states for her 90th birthday. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Egbert, her son Dale (Sharon) Bryant, daughter-in-law, Susan Bryant, step-children, Douglas Welsh, Brenda Chladek, Barbara (Daniel) Lauffer, Patricia Richter, and Matthew Welsh, 27 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother-in-law, Scott Eldred, and nephews Clifford and Vern Eldred.

In addition to her parents, her son, Terry Bryant, and sisters, Donna Eldred and Eleanor Tyler, preceded her in death.

The graveside service will take place on Saturday, October 9th at Bethany Cemetery. A memorial service in Montana will be held at a later date. Bryant Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
