RSVP’s News and Notes Dec. 2020

First and foremost, a huge Thank You to all of our Volunteers!!!

This has been a challenging year and we are grateful for all of you!!

Even with a lot of our sites being shut down, our volunteers still served over 8,700 hours in the 5 counties South Central MT RSVP serves.

We were very happy to get in a few events the past couple of months.

CHRISTMAS STROLL

The Stroll was held Dec. 5th, 2020.

RSVP had our usual place for our table at Musselshell Valley Equipment building.

MaLinda and Tony DiTonno did the set up with the help of volunteers. Set up started at 4pm and MaLinda and Tony took down the table around 7pm.

Volunteers who worked the table were:

Julia Sirovetz, Sherry Stiles, Bill Trent, Barb Wacker and Tony DiTonno.

We sold raffle tickets for the Holiday Food Baskets and Hot Dogs and chips.

Hidden Jems was also open until 7pm for the Stroll.

HOLIDAY FOOD BASKET

Due to COVID we were very limited in selling raffle tickets for the Holiday Food Baskets.

We sold tickets out of the RSVP office, Northern Treasures and the Senior Center during lunches.

We were unable to set up raffle tables at the grocery stores this year.

The winners were Julia Sirovetz and Sarah Pressler. Their names were drawn on Roundup Radio at 8:30am on Dec. 18th. MaLinda and Pam were there representing RSVP.

SECRET SANTA PROJECT

A list was put together with names of Senior Citizens and people who were alone this year. We contacted the Nursing Home, all Assisted Living Homes and Homes on the Range. We ended up with 53 names.

By December 2nd, all names had been picked up!!! We were amazed at how fast they went. Our community is amazing! We did tell people that were still interested, to go to School Administration building to get names from the Angel Tree.

Everyone returned their names with presents. We did not have to follow up on anything!! We could not deliver the presents to individuals as we have in the past due to COVID. All presents were picked up by the 23rd and distributed.

This was a great event again this year.
