The Dan McCaffree Family and Friends of Musselshell School, Inc. (FoMS) will be hosting their Annual Memorial Weekend "Pig-nic" at the Musselshell school on Sunday and Monday, May 26 and 27. Serving begins at noon both days. The cost to share the meal with friends and family is a free-will donation. All donations go to maintain and operate Musselshell School as a community center
This is the 20th year that the McCaffree family has provided the barbecued pork, bean pot, and potato casserole while FoMS supplies the facility and tableware. Then the neighborhood and guests supply the accompaniments. Local women organize buns, hot dishes, salads, and desserts to ensure provisions for all that attend. To assist with food planning please call Adair at 406-947-5141 if you plan to bring a dish or want to know what best to bring. Bringing food is not required!
Raffle tickets will be for sale during the pig-nic. Sunday, May 27 is the last day to purchase tickets for the colorful "Tutti Fruitti" quilt hand-crafted by Cindy McCaffree Berg. About 2:30 in the afternoon the winning ticket will be drawn. A new raffle will be kicked off during the pig-nic as well! This year's raffle is for two oil paintings. The smaller unframed painting (20 X 16) of a bugling elk was painted and donated by local artist Tammy Schulz Bellinger. The larger, heavy framed painting (55 X 31) of Mont Blanc Massif was painted by artist Wade Riley and was donated to FoMS by Mary Jane Beadle. Purchasers can chose which picture their tickets go toward. All tickets are $1.00 each or 6 tickets for $5.00. You can only win if you buy a ticket!
The "Pig-nic" is planned not with just the thought of a friendly visit, but also to honor those passed and those serving in the military, as well as passed friends and family, all who have given so much to the Musselshell community. The McCaffree families donate their time and talents for this event in memory of the late Rae McCaffree.
