Rep. Rosendale Champions Montana Priorities and Votes in Favor of Interior Appropriations Bill

November 8, 2023

Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) voted in favor of H.R. 4821 - Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act of 2024.

“This morning, I was proud to vote in favor of a bill that not only puts us on a path toward fiscal responsibility but also prioritizes Montana and upends the Left’s Green New Deal agenda,” said Rep. Rosendale.

“Our national debt is over $33 trillion. Congress has a responsibility to the American people to put an end to this spending spree, which is why I was proud to support H.R. 4821. This bill reins in wasteful spending by making cuts to the BLM and EPA, that have all been imposing harmful regulatory measures on Montanans. H.R. 4821 also chips away at the Left’s Green New Deal agenda by prohibiting funding for the Environmental and Climate Justice program and the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund laid out in Biden and Pelosi’s Inflation Acceleration Act.

“Moreover, I am proud of the work we did to secure several wins for Montana. This includes an increase for PILT, which is critical for our small and rural communities. We also put an end to Biden’s harmful WOTUS rule so we can protect our farmers and ranchers. House Republicans also included provisions to make Montana energy dominant again by rolling back regulations on mineral production and requiring the DOI to execute oil and gas sales.

“House Republicans are keeping our promise to the American people as we continue to deliver the appropriations bills that put America first while funding government in a responsible and transparent manner. I look forward to working with my colleagues to pass the remaining five bills ahead of the November 17th funding deadline.”
