At the October 6th meeting of the Signal Peak foundation Board the board approved 6 grant applications for a total of $49,172.

Friends of Musselshell School was awarded $14,672. for repair of the gym walls and the rest room area.

Montana Treasured Piecemakers QOV group was awarded $5,000. for fabric, batting and backing for the quilts that will be made for the Veterans in Musselshell County. Our local quilting ladies are responsible for making many of these quilts.

Musselshell County Disaster and Emergency Services received $4,000. 100 individual Stop-the-Bleed kits will be placed in 10 supply caches throughout the county. These kits will be located in several first response vehicles, command trailers and both schools in Roundup and one in the Melstone school.

Musselshell County Rural Volunteer Fire Departments will receive $2,500. for 10 First Responder Trauma and Bleeding control Bags. These bags will be located in the County Fire Trucks.

Musselshell County Sheriff’s Office was awarded $20,000. for a public safety drone. This drone will have the capability of providing multi-jurisdictional support for search and rescue, fire operations, law enforcement operations and other emergency operations. This type of drone could have been used during the flood on Bender road to communicate with the residents that were isolated because of the flood.

Roundup Little League was awarded $3,000. for batting cages and needed small equipment.

With sponsorship of an additional $100,000. from Signal Peak Energy Mine the board approved the Main Street Improvement Initiative. This loan program is provided to assist businesses of Roundup and the surrounding areas in making physical improvements to the exterior of their properties. A separate board has been appointed to approve these loans. It is planned for a roll-out of this initiative by November 1, 2023.
