Letters to the Editor

It would be interesting to see if this item even gets published.

Travelling around the United States, I am no longer surprised about what I hear, as corruption is increasingly infiltrating into small town America. It's like an ooze, that once it arrives it is rarely mitigated.

There is a feud happening in a subdivision north of town, known as the Roundup Mesa. It is over water. It can be compared to the Hatfields and McCoys. And just like in that legendary story, there are elements of corrupt government and public officials. In this case it is the local government in bed with large corporations. And, like the current Taylor Sheridan hit series, "Yellowstone", public officials in the state of Montana have been "bought" by large corporations who have deep pockets-the law is manipulated in order to serve their interests instead of protecting taxpayers. These conglomerates influence and scavenge off of government from the top down. Writhing around offices and email servers like snakes. Oh, the dirt that has been discovered and ignored, it would make a great fiction novel, but it is more suited as non-fiction. How long has this area been under the thumb of bad representation- I have been told the furniture has well worn depressions from where these people sit. There are elements of corruption surrounding the water ballot issue coming up on August 15. Among other things and for those interested in research- look up COPP 2014-CFP-014 on the Commissioner of Political Practices of the State of Montana website-may I suggest a good glass of wine to settle in with to read the 22 page script which is fit for a screen-play.
