SIGNAL PEAK COMMUNITY FOUNDATION BOARD MEETS

At the May 1st meeting of the Signal Peak Foundation Board the board approved 9 applications for grants.

Musselshell County Ambulance was awarded $34,073. for a Medical grade oxygen compressor and a OXY-1M single position fill station. This is necessary due to regulatory changes. Mike’s Service is no longer allowed to stock medical oxygen and cylinders would have to be brought from Billings. The need to have oxygen readily available is a necessity for the ambulances.

Roundup Community Partners was awarded $21,250. for completion of the Welcome Plaza Project. This will cover the cost of the landscaping.

A grant was given to the Roundup Youth Baseball in the amount of $2,212. for a diamond digger field groomer, a chalker, and 2 batter box templates. A request was made for a shed for storage, but the board decided the Parks committee of the city should meet with the baseball supporters and come up with a plan for one building to replace the small ones that are there.

Melstone Community Pool was awarded $20,914. for a concrete slab, a shade structure and a lifeguard chair. When the slab is being poured the concrete edges of the pool will be repaired also. The pool operates on donations and fund raising.

Roundup High School Agriculture Program and FFA Chapter was granted $28,500. for a Torchmaster 4400 Plasma Cutting System. The students in FFA will be able to learn to weld using the system.

Melstone Public Schools was granted $2,780. for pea gravel and borders to be placed under their new playground equipment.

The City of Roundup requested funds for security cameras for the pool, playground equipment, stage and the new and old restrooms. $22,000. was awarded for this project. With the addition of the new light poles at the park complex that the Signal Peak Foundation awarded at their October meeting, this will enhance the safety for everyone using the facilities.

The Pine Ridge Golf Course was awarded $25,000. for the purchase of a split unit Heating and AC system for the clubhouse and a payment on the fairway mower. The clubhouse gets extremely hot in the summer and the AC will make the building more comfortable for employees and golfer after their round of golf.

Rodeo Roundup requested $1,531.for a tent, canopies, chairs and tables for the spectators at the 2023 rodeo and future rodeos. This will provide shade and comfort to those in the handicap section and the VIP section. Their request was granted by the board.

Five scholarships will be given out to graduating students at Roundup High School.
