On a hot June afternoon, the season finale for the Roundup Majors 11-12 2022 took place at the Roundup Swimming Pool. The events leading up to a baseball team ending at a swimming pool are as follows.

The 11-12 Majors started their season winning games, then they hit a brick wall, losing game after game to the more experienced Billings teams. Some of these players had never played baseball before and some had played since T-Ball. It was flustering and disappointing to most of the players, but for the most part they just loved playing baseball. There is a tournament for all the teams at the end of the season, it is a one loss and you are out. To inspire the team, Coach Mike Rustad told them he would jump in the pool in Roundup if they could win

one game (Mike can't swim). Then having second thoughts he said he would if Coach Tyler Daum would jump in (Tyler can't swim), but Coach Frank Shipley said he would jump in with them, he can swim. Well, never Mike or Tyler like water, so Mike said he would have to have a white unicorn floatie to do it, Tyler wanted a pink flamingo. They thought they were maybe safe until team mother, Erika Lincoln, found a white unicorn and a pink flamingo. Now, the team had to beat a team toward the top end of the tournament bracket to pull this off. The bottom of the 5th inning found the Roundup team down 7 to 12. They were up to bat first in the 6th and final inning. Grit, guts and determination found them making 7 runs when they got up to bat. The score was now in Roundups favor 14 to 12.

The Billings team was up to bat at the bottom of the sixth. Ruger Daum was pitching and the first batter got a hit, but was put out by David Fisher at first base, the next batter struck out and the third batter hit the ball, which was caught by Ruger Daum for three up and three out.

They beat the shocked Billings team 14 to 12. It is believed that this is the first win by a Majors 11-12 team in over 17 years.

Team members are: Ruger Daum, Mason Rustad, David Fisher, Teigen Kinsey, Grayson Mondragon, Justin Lincoln, Matthew McHenry, Avery Shipley, Aaron Eoff, Tyler Russell, and Rhys Erickson.

Coaches are: Mike Rustad, Tyler Daum, Frank Shipley and Evan Rustad.
