Vera Edelman

Vera passed away 2/24/22, in Roundup, MT, from liver failure, at the age of 85.

Vera Marie was born to Elbert and Fern (Davis) Miller on July 16,1936 in Creston, Iowa. After 4 brothers, she was such a welcome change, all of them spoiling her. Her oldest brother, Robert, died at birth, & Jerry died when he was 14. Her other two brothers, Carroll and Earl, lived long lives. When Jerry died, Grandma just couldn't live on the farm anymore, so they moved to Los Angeles, where Grandpa ran a furniture store.

This is where Mom met our Dad, Ottis (Red) Clements. They were married in 1953, when Mom was only 16. They had 6 kids, Jeanne Kowalski (Mike), Tina Green, Mary Lou Clements, Darrow Scott Clements, Darla Edwards (Dan), and Jeffrey Clements (Lyssa). Darrow Scott preceded mom in death, as did Rocky Green, Tina's husband, and grandson, Jerid. To these people, more grandchildren and great-grandchildren than one can count, entered Mom's life, to her delight. She also has numerous nieces and nephews that survive her.

Dad and Mom afforded us a great life. We were all born in Southern California, but we travelled a lot. Camping was a big favorite of ours. We always said that Dad had a wanderlust, and Mom followed him anywhere. That landed us in Montana, which took some getting used to, but ended up being a wonderful thing, since we all found mates there.

Red died from complications of diabetes after years of suffering. Mom was alone for over ten years, then she married Charles Edelman. Charles died last year.

Dad and Mom became Jehovah's Witnesses early in their marriage, which has always made them very happy, and brought so many good friends. In fact, when we lived in California, our house was known affectionately as Grand Central Station, we always had people over, as our parents felt if someone needed a friend, they'd find several at the Clements' house. And Mom could figure out more ways to stretch dinner when we had people show up! She was an amazing wife, mother, grandma & nana. We will miss her so much. We're so very grateful for the resurrection hope the Bible provides to all people, to live forever on a cleansed earth. In paradise, Mom will feed all who are at her table, bountifully.

We will have a memorial service at 2:00 on Saturday, 3/12, via Zoom. Contact anyone in our family for the link.
