Letters to the Editor

April 28, 2021

Hello, my name is Brenda Serrano and I am running for the Board of Trustees for Roundup School Districts 55 & 55H. I graduated as Salutatorian from Gilpin County High School in Colorado, then went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree at Colorado State University in Agricultural Business. My husband and I choose to move to Roundup in 2003 and start our family. I currently have two children enrolled at the High School, my daughter is a junior and my son is an eighth grader. I am excited for the possibility to represent the interest of the community and focus on the education provided to our youth. I believe to be an effective Trustee you must be willing to work with the community, school administration, faculty, staff and fellow Trustees. I am active in several community organizations including the Musselshell-Golden Valley 4-H Council, Roundup FFA Boosters and Roundup Wrestling Club. I have sat on the Advisory Board for Career & Technical Education, help revitalize PTSA, served on the RIDE committee and School Board Trustee. Through my involvement in these organizations, it has provided me a strong working relationship within the school district and community. I am a jump in with both feet person. I will be transparent and back up my decisions and actions with facts and data. The youth are our future, let us provide them best education we can. I appreciate your support on May 4th.
