There has been a lot of confusion between Musselshell County Council on Aging and Area II Agency on Aging and which office to call for specific needs or services. Here is a brief description of each and the Public Service information services they offer, as well as location and contact information to hopefully clear some of this up.

Musselshell County Council on Aging

The Musselshell County Council on Aging is a non-profit organization serving the age 60 and over citizens in our community. They offer the following services:

• Meals at the Central Commons: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday

• Meals on Wheels: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from the Central Commons. Tuesday, Friday and Saturday meals are contracted through the Roundup Memorial Hospital.

• Bus Transportation Service

o Local rides to the Central Commons for meals and activities.

o Medical rides to Roundup Clinic and Billings appointments.

• Senior Center Activities such as bingo, etc.

Area II Agency on Aging

Area II Agency on Aging is a public, non-profit organization which serves the needs and concerns of seniors and the disabled individuals throughout an eleven county, two reservation area in Central Montana. Area Agencies contract with senior centers and Councils on Aging in our service area to provide meals and other services. Area II Agency on Aging offers the following direct services:

• Information & Assistance – provide local resource information and connect people with necessary services.

• Certified Local Ombudsman Program – advocates for residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

• State Health Insurance Assistance Program – trained counselors assist with Medicare, Part D, Medicaid and other programs

• Self-Directed Personal Care Program – allows Medicaid eligible clients to maintain their lifestyle at home through the assistance of personal care attendants.

• Representative Payee & Money Management Services helps individuals with their financial tasks.

• Guardianship Program serves as a legal advocate for persons deemed incapacitated by a court of law.

• Aging and Disability Resource Center

• Veteran Directed Care gives Veterans of all ages the opportunity to receive in-home services such as personal care or even meal prep in a self-directed way.
