Commissioners April 13, 2020 Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Borner. Commissioner Carlson was present.

Pledge of Allegiance.

Commissioner Carlson made the motion to approve the agenda as is. Commissioner Borner seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Commissioner Carlson made the motion to approve the minutes after a few grammatical errors are corrected. Commissioner Borner seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Commissioner Carlson did not have any board meeting but there is a meeting at 10:30 today regarding the procedure for burn permit citations.

Commissioner Borner worked on questions for the interview today for a possible replacement for District 2 Commissioner, checked into the COVIS-19 packages out of Congress from NACo, worked with Snowy Mountain Development Corporation regarding small business assistance, worked on the Management and Discussion Analysis with Denning & Downey and needs to meet with Treasurer Hertrick and Clerk & Recorder Tomassi for numbers. This week Commissioner Borner has telephone meetings with Snowy Mountain Development and the Central Montana Health District.


Work is being done at the Extension Office, but Stone Construction needs to get some information to the Commissioners

The Audits are being worked on by Denning, Downing and Associates. In 2016 there was money put into the wrong account and there may need to be a budget amendment done at the end of the year.

The Commissioners are going to check on other Counties websites and will be going out for bids on a new website.

The Commissioners are looking into getting solar lighting at County cemeteries.

Road and Bridge Supervisor Stockert and Secretary Kenner gave their weekly report to the Commissioners. They will be working on separating the combined BARSSA fund accounts. They will be getting all #4 Road landowners’ approval in writing for the “emergency access road”. Roads are going to be ugly with the weather we have had.

Sheriff Lesnik gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. They have been doing interviews. They are going to be going to the Coal Board and the Signal Peak Community Foundation for the impound building. They will be getting the ADSI security system.

Sheriff Lesnik, Under Sheriff Bednar, DES Coordinator Harper, Fire Chiefs Brad Pfeiffer and Steve Tyrell and Justin Russell met with the Commissioners regarding the protocol for burn permit violation citations. After discussion, the Commissioners are going to amend Resolution 2020-7 setting Fire Restrictions for Musselshell County. Justin Russell informed the Commissioners, that County Fire Chief Mihalovich designated him to be the investigator for any fire violations.

Mike Goffena was present.

There being no further business the motion was made to adjourn. Motion carried.
