New Nurse Call System at RMH!

October 30, 2019

Roundup Memorial Healthcare (RMH) would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the Signal Peak Community Foundation, USDA Rural Development, and Montana Coal Board for their support to replace the hospital's antiquated call system. The new call system will allow proactive alerts about the patient, room, and bed status that can be sent directly to caregivers as well as providing real‐time information needed to drive patient safety and satisfaction.

RMH recently implemented the new HillRom NaviCare Nurse Call System with enterprise reporting and staff locating features. The call system enables state-of-the-art, 2-way communications between patients and staff. This system includes an advanced staff tracking component that is enabled through a badge the staff wears and locator sensors spread throughout the hospital. The badge allows staff to know each other's location, automatically turn off the call light when a staff member enters the patient's room, and staff response time can be recorded. Patient calls, type of calls, duration of wait and frequency of calls can also be recorded. The enterprise reporting feature allows managers to monitor and improve staff efficiency and provide detailed data for staff response time. These advanced features also increase patient safety and quality of care.

“Without the help of our grant partners, many of the service and equipment improvements at Roundup Memorial would not be possible,” said Holly Wolff, Roundup Memorial Healthcare CEO. “These grants funds enabled Roundup Memorial Healthcare to upgrade this important, failing system."

Thank you to the Signal Peak Community Foundation ($7,244), USDA Rural Development ($30,000), and Montana Coal Board ($100,000) for their support of this project.
