Elbert Wray Boyd

 


Elbert Wray Boyd, 86, joined God’s heavenly Choir on May 7, 2021. He died at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings, Montana where he received excellent and compassionate care. He died of pulmonary insufficiency due to complications after a fall at home on April 30.

Elbert W. Boyd was born on January 11, 1935 in Nevada, Missouri, the youngest of five boys. He served in the U.S. Nany 1951-1955 and was a Korean War combat veteran. He married Mary Ellen George in 1956 and they had two children, Theresa and Earl. Elbert joined the San Francisco Police Department and graduated in the first academy class in 1961. He received various awards and loved his work on the tactical unit until his disability retirement in 1976. After his divorce, Elbert married Mildred Brady in 1975. They ranched in Northern California until she retired, and they moved to Roundup, Montana in 2001.

Elbert is survived by his wife, two children, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one of his brothers, Charles Boyd.
