Kendall Eliasson began making jewelry 14 years ago after college. When she married Eric, the interest only gained momentum as Eric had an interest in rock and fossil collecting. Eric began tumbling their favorite rocks, and Kendall would make them into jewelry.

These days, they have taken their hobby to the next level. Cutting and polishing agates, jasper, banded chert, petrified wood, vermiculite, stalactite, and any other interesting thing they find, and making it into one of a kind, high end jewelry like you would expect to see in a jewelry store in downtown Bozeman or Jackson Hole.

My favorite piece was Kendall's newest creation, a wrap bracelet. Some pieces are hard to part with as they are all so treasured. One of Eric and Kendall's favorite pieces, not for sale, is from an ammonite. A stone fossil from a living creature must surely qualify as a gem. A fossil is evidence of a life, preserved through time. We could all be so lucky as to be a fossil, though I may be called one soon enough by my son.

Many who live in Roundup may already know the Eliassons'. Eric's father has been an electrician in the area for years, and Eric, an Electrician like his father, began working with him 11 years ago. He has assumed the business since moving back home. Along with living in the area, ranching, and a full time job, the young family has one son, who loves the jewelry making business, particularly helping mom and dad pick just the right stone to use.
