Drug Education Seminar

April 28, 2021

Wednesday, April 21, a collaboration consisting of the 14th Judicial District Juvenile Probation, Drug Enforcement Agency and local Sheriff’s office presented a seminar to the public on how to watch for drug use, how drugs are being hidden, what types of drugs are out there, and how they are being marketed to youth. DEA presented a slide show that was educational in scope and updated for today’s drug culture. Sheriff’s office mentioned that younger and younger children are being exposed to drugs, and stated there was one case they knew of where a local 14 year old youth was involved with meth.

This informative presentation would not have been possible without help from the Roundup Record and Tribune for the free advertising, KLMB for hosting Sherriff Lesnick to outreach the community, and the Commissioner’s for the use of the Commons.

Sheriff Lesnick ended the meeting asking citizens who may suspect drug use, or other criminal activity, to contact the Sherriff’s office immediately. He added they cannot do anything if they don’t know what’s going on out there, and asks the public to help with this dangerous path some are on. The sheriff’s office number is 323-1402. Help our community be safer.
