Governor-elect Gianforte Names Transportation Transition Advisory Team

December 2, 2020

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Governor-elect Greg Gianforte today named his transition advisory team for the Department of Transportation.

The advisory team will identify and review candidates to serve as the next director of Department of Transportation, and will forward its recommendations to Governor-elect Gianforte.

“Our roads, railways, and airways connect Montanans from every corner of our state, and the Department of Transportation must maintain that network in a fiscally responsible way,” Gianforte said. “I’m grateful to the members of this advisory team for their willingness to serve, and I look forward to receiving their recommendations.”

This is the eighth advisory team the governor-elect has established to assist in identifying exceptional candidates to serve as agency heads and members of related boards. So far, Gianforte has announced transition advisory teams for Agriculture, DPHHS, DOC, FWP, and Revenue as well as joint advisory teams for Commerce-Labor/Industry and DNRC-DEQ.

All members of the Department of Transportation Transition Advisory Team serve in a voluntary capacity and are not compensated for their time.

Earlier this month, Gianforte launched ServeMontana.com, a website in which individuals may submit their credentials for consideration to serve Montana, including leading state agencies.

Members of Governor-elect Gianforte’s Transportation Advisory Team follow:

Vicki Bertelsen – co-owner of K&K Trucking, Inc.

Richard Dunbar – Phillips County commissioner; vice-chair of Montana Association of Counties Transportation Committee

Kevin Gustainis – president and owner of Montana Peterbilt

Tim Robertson – chairman and CEO of Century Companies, Inc.
