Governor-elect Gianforte Names Military Affairs Transition Advisory Team

December 2, 2020

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Governor-elect Greg Gianforte today named his transition advisory team for the Department of Military Affairs.

The advisory team will identify and review candidates to serve as the next director of the Department of Military Affairs, and will forward its recommendations to Gianforte.

“When disaster strikes or our nation’s security is threatened, Montanans rely on our dedicated, selfless men and women in uniform to execute the mission. We owe them a debt of gratitude,” Gianforte said. “We must ensure the Department of Military Affairs has the leadership and resources so our troops can answer the call and get the job done. I thank the members of this team for their important work, and look forward to receiving their recommendations.”

This is the tenth and final transition advisory team the governor-elect has established to assist in identifying exceptional candidates to serve as agency heads and members of related boards. So far, Gianforte has announced transition advisory teams for Administration, Agriculture, DPHHS, DOC, FWP, Revenue, and Transportation, as well as joint advisory teams for Commerce-Labor/Industry and DNRC-DEQ.

All members of the Military Affairs Transition Advisory Team serve in a voluntary capacity and are not compensated for their time.

Earlier this month, Gianforte launched ServeMontana.com, a website in which individuals may submit their credentials for consideration to serve Montana, including leading state agencies.

Members of Governor-elect Gianforte’s Military Affairs Advisory Team follow:

Tim Fox, J.D., M.P.A. – Montana Attorney General

Roger Hagan – retired lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard; former Montana state representative (HD-19)
