Roundup Memorial Healthcare Approved for MDOT Grant

November 18, 2020

Roundup Memorial Healthcare (RMH) is pleased to announce that we will be receiving a 2021 transportation bus from the Montana Department of Transportation (MDOT) for their long-term care residents. RMH is expecting the bus to arrive early summer 2021.

The new bus can hold up to 12 passengers or 6 wheelchairs and will expand our residents’ access to services. Services that will be provided include managing and coordinating transportation activities to fulfill required medical care, increasing residents’ attendance in community activities and events, and improving long-term care (LTC) patients’ overall quality of life.

“Residents and staff are so excited about the bus coming,” said Connie Buehring, RMH Social Services Coordinator. “It will allow our residents to do things that they were not able to do with the community bus. We are so grateful for the grant and the opportunity that MDOT has given us to enrich our residents’ lives.”

RMH’s initial fundraising goal for the required match was $16,453. We have raised $7,830 through a yard sale, old equipment sales, and the Hospital Auxiliary’s $1,000 donation. We have $8,623 left to raise. If you are interested in donating, please contact Judy Puckett at the Women’s Auxiliary at 406-323-4956.

Thank you, MDOT, for helping enable this project for Roundup Memorial Healthcare’s long-term care residents.
