Roundup VFW made six generous donations on Wednesday to our local fire department. One thousand dollars was given to the Roundup, and Musselshell county fire department, and five hundred dollars each to the Melstone Fire Department, the Bull Mountain Fire Department, the Dean Creek Fire Department, and the Hot Creek Fire Department. This donation will be used to purchace new equipment for the departments as many suffered heavy losses during this year's fires. The donation was done through the raffle that the VFW does each year, as well as the poppies that the veterans sell.

Other local interests that the VFW contributes to include purchacing and placing the flags on Main Street, gift to Old Timers for Alzheimers, Voice of Democracy, (a scholarship award through the high school), RIDE, Hospice, and the Senior Center who they recently gave five hundred dollars to. All of the money that the VFW raises goes back into our community.

The VFW would like to thank the community for their support and they tell me that none of these great donations could happen without the support of the community for their work. The community is the better for these great patriots who care for our community by the time and commitment they put into giving back continually.
