NPThank YouLegal

"I want to extend a huge THANK YOU to the County Commissioners (Nicole Borner and Mike Goffena), our County Clerk and Recorder (Cheryl Tomassi), our County Treasurer (Darcie Hetrick), and past Commissioner (Adam Carlson) for their devoted and enormous effort to clean-up our County's financial situation. In mid-2019 it was discovered that Musselshell County was not in compliance with State Financial Reporting Requirements (Annual Financial Reports and audits must be submitted to the State of Montana each year). The last audit on record with the State was from 2014. The County staff has worked incredibly hard and gone above and beyond to address this issue and, this month, the State confirmed that Musselshell County is now in full compliance with State requirements.

Why is this important, besides being State law? Without this effort, Musselshell County would have lost a $713,500 grant and been ineligible for other grants.

I am a grant writer and development specialist. For the past five years, I have worked with different organizations to help improve our community and its health services. I was part of a team, who with the County's support, received a $713,500 grant to improve our hospital's antiquated infrastructure (which is desperately needed). As a professional and as a taxpayer, I am extremely grateful for the integrity and work that has been done to save these grant funds and bring our County into good standing.

Thank you, Commissioners Nicole Borner and Mike Goffena, Clerk Tomassi and her staff, and Treasurer Hetrick and her team! With much gratitude,Theresa Doumit"
