Several years ago present and past parishioners of St Honorata Catholic Church stepped up to raise money to pay for improvements, and pay for expenses to their cherished church building in Musselshell. To accomplish the work necessary they began with a fundraiser, Breakfast in the Park. This now famous breakfast is going to take place at the Handel Park in Musselshell on Sunday, September 13. Serving begins at 8 and lasts till noon. The cost is $10.00 for a scrumptious smorgasbord of biscuits and gravy, bacon, ham, pancakes, hash browns, and eggs, all accompanied with coffee and juice.Donations and fundraising has enabled the parishioners to make repairs and pay the insurance on the building.St Honorata Catholic Church was founded by Reverend Thomas Hennessy in 1916. It served 80 Catholic persons at the time. In 1917, Milwaukee Land Co. deeded the present site to the Diocese for the sum of $100. The church was built on the site the same year. Currently parishioners have lessened to where the Dioceses’ consider the church a “chapel.” Many of the buildings that once were in Musselshell have been demolished, fallen into disrepair or been moved away, it is a delight to see a structure respected.
