Mr. Brown is a native of Dillon. He is a graduate of Beaverhead County High School and the University of Montana – Missoula. Mr. Brown earned his law degree from the Seattle University School of Law and his Masters in Tax Law from the University of Washington. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Brown worked six years in Washington D.C. as a Congressional Aide, including for U.S. Senator Conrad Burns of Montana.

Having grown up in rural Montana, Mr. Brown has a deep appreciation for all of Montana's treasures, and strongly believes in continuing Montana's natural resources development and agriculture heritage. Mr. Brown has worked in Montana's hay fields and in the halls of the State Legislature in Helena. He has a passion for climbing Montana's peaks, fishing Montana's lakes, streams, and rivers, and in traveling internationally.

Mr. Brown owns his own law firm, wherein he employs multiple Montanans. As a business owner, Mr. Brown understands what it means to sign both the front and back of a paycheck. Mr. Brown's practice focuses on the areas of protecting rights guaranteed by the 1st amendment from government interference, representing ranchers and farmers, Trusts and Estates, and general civil litigation.

Prior to owning and operating his own law firm, Mr. Brown worked for the Doney Law Firm of Helena Montana. He also worked for six years in Washington D.C. as a congressional aide for then U.S. Senators Conrad Burns of Montana and Chuck Hagel of Nebraska. He also served as the legislative director for former Congressman Judy Biggert of Illinois. What is more, Brown clerked for former Chief Justice Gerry L. Alexander of the Washington State Supreme Court.

Mr. Brown is heavily involved in the Montana business community. Mr. Brown works as the public policy director the Montana Wool Growers Association, has served as the lobbyist for Citizens for Balanced Use, the Solid Waste Contractors Association and for other Montana-based entities. Brown also serves as the Executive Director of the Montana Independent Bankers Association and the Montana Funeral Directors Association.

District 3 encompasses: Beaverhead, Madison, Jefferson, Broadwater, Gallatin, Park, Deer Lodge, Silver Bow, Wheatland, Meagher, Sweetgrass, Golden Valley, Stillwater & Musselshell Counties.
