It is with great pleasure that Friends of Musselshell School, Inc. and The Illustrious Musselshell Players present to you a delicious meal and a comedy production, Happy Birthday Dear Grandpa, written by Michal Jacot for dinner theatre and matinee productions at the Musselshell School Community Center September 18, 19, & 20.

Seating begins at 5:30 p.m. sharp on Friday and Saturday for a sit-down dinner. After dinner is served the cast and guests move to the upstairs auditorium for the evening finale. The cost of the dinner-theatre is $25.00 per person. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE DINNER THEATRE. Reserve your seat today by calling 406-947-5200. If there is no answer, leave a detailed message. All messages will receive a return call. Seating is limited and tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis.

The curtain goes up promptly at 2 p.m. on Sunday when the cast returns for a matinee performance. The cost to attend the matinee is $10.00 per person (pre-school free). No reservations are required to attend the Sunday matinee. Coffee and birthday cake will be served on the main floor after the performance.

Happy Birthday Dear Grandpa is a light-hearted comedy featuring Walter “Grandpa” Hartley. He is a crusty, crabby, sour, bad-tempered man of 96 who is determined to tell the world that his grandkids are trying to kill him for their inheritance ($642 and a postcard collection). Grandpa makes sure he tells everyone he encounters how he feels. So when Grandpa suddenly slumps forward, face down in his birthday cake at his surprise party, the grandkids realize it looks like murder and they are the prime suspects!

This year’s cast includes the talents of Sherie Milburn, Ken Eickhoff, Karen Shelhamer, Lynn Retting, Norma Trent, Nathan Goffena, Nan Rademacher, Silvia Metzger, and Ralph Goffena as “Grandpa” Walter Hartley. Happy Birthday Dear Grandpa is produced by special arrangement with Eldridge Publishing Co., as directed by Dalen Keeney with set directed by Joanie Rettig. Photography is by Sandy Vongries.

Extra sanitary (COVID-19) precautions are being implemented: wear a mask if you desire, tables will be set spaciously, and all food will be served to guests.

All proceeds from this fundraising event are used to operate the Musselshell School as a community center.
