Elmer Andrew Sturtz

 


Elmer Andrew Sturtz born December 28, 1930 in Jordan, MT to John and Molly (Hilder¬man) Sturtz.

Elmer was the first child of John and Molly born in the hospital. Grandmother Eva had delivered all the others at home.

Elmer’s first 6 years were spent on the family farm. Then they moved to town. Elmer went to grade school in Jordan. He started working after the 8th grade on ranches then construc¬tion.

He married Norma Kreider February 25, 1951 in Jordan, they had three children Cindy, David, and Kathy. Later di-vorced. He married Pearl Gil¬man Beginski in October 1961. Pearl brought two children from her previous marriage Richard Wayne and Lana Marie Beginski to the marriage. Then Pearl and Elmer had three children, Tina Lee, Paul Andrew, and Lorin Jospeh.

Elmer worked at Cohagen and later Sand Springs ranching be¬fore the family moved to Jordan, where he worked for Hagemans, then he operated a Conoco station in Jordan, later went to work for 15 years for the Garfied County road dept, worked there till he retired.

After retirement he moved to the Bull Mountains out of Roundup, next to a lifelong friend, Bud Nelson, where he continued repairing and shooting guns, with friends Bill Moore and Bob Mooris and having coffee with many of Roundups local citizens, fixing the world’s problems.

Preceded in death by parents, siblings brothers Emanuel, George, William, Johnny, sisters Alvina Hoffman, Elsie Leiker, Esther, Hinther, Alma Reynolds, Ruby Clark.

Three children, David, Kathy and Tina Lee.

Survived by Children Cindy Riggleman, Paul (Gail) Sturtz, Lorin (Christy) Sturtz, Lana {Tom} Tegler and Richard {Patti} Beginski. Brother Richard (Mary) Sturtz and Sister Irma Stone. Numerous nieces and nephews 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, May 9, 10 a.m. Luthern Church in Jordan

Luncheon to follow.
