Certified Seed Potatoes

April 22, 2020

The Musselshell-Golden Valley Extension office now has seed potatoes. The seed is sourced from Holbrook Seed Potatoes located in Twin Bridges, Montana. The importance of using certified seed potatoes is to prevent the spread of devastating potato diseases commonly found from using poor quality seed. The varieties available through the office include Huckleberry Gold, Yukon Gem, German Butterball, Classic Russet, and Norland Dark Red for $1 per pound. Once the seed is gone, we will not have any more until next April. In order to maintain social distancing, there are a couple guidelines this year to pick up potatoes. Please call the office at (406) 323-2704 to check on quantity and place your order between 8-11:30 am or 1:30-5 pm. Exact payment for your order may be placed in the container outside of the office; we will not be able to make change. The order will be placed outside the front door to the office. Please contact Jennifer Fosjord at [email protected] or (406) 366-6475 with any additional questions about the varieties or planting.
