The Panthers hosted the Baker Spartans on Thursday night for their first home game of the year. Unfortunately, the game started much the same as their game against Winnett. The Panthers struggled to make shots early but did a better job of moving the basketball, showing some patience, and getting quality shots. Baker had 4 different players score for them in the opening quarter and they had a 13-7 lead at the end of the first period. The defense was solid all night long which gave our offense an opportunity to get going. In the second quarter Ryder, Brigem, Kaide, Makale, and Dylan all scored. Dylan’s solid post play allowed our guards to get open, cut off of the post entry, and kept Baker guessing as to how we were going to score next. The Panthers led 20-18 at the half. Defense was the name of the game in the third quarter after four minutes of play both teams scored a combined 1 point. There were many fires started last night. Makale made a couple of threes from deep and Kaide added one late in the quarter to extend the Panther lead. Michael, Makale, and Kaide all hit a three early in the fourth to extend the lead to double digits. From that point the defense blanketed shooters and rebounded the misses. Panthers were victorious 45-30.

Scoring was as follows:

Ryder Klein 3,

Michael McHenry 3,

Brigem Dahl 4,

Dylan Sanner 10,

Kaide Griffith 10, and

Makale Kembel 15.
