Roundup Christmas Food Baskets Fast Approaching

December 18, 2019

The days fly by so quickly and holidays turn from one to the next in the blink of an eye! Christmas is right around the corner and the Roundup Christmas Food Basket Program is looking forward to helping make the Christmas holiday just a bit brighter for families in need! The Roundup Christmas Food Basket Program thanks everyone for their donations so far, but we still have a ways to go. Please get in the giving spirit by donating to the Roundup Christmas Food Basket Program at 1st Security Bank or send a check to P.O. Box 462, Roundup, MT 59072. For the past several years the Christmas Food Basket Program has provided 100+ Christmas dinners and some extras to area families in need. The entire bill usually comes to approximately $5,000 and miraculously, that is pretty much the total of the donations received most years! The Roundup community, its businesses, organizations, and generous individuals have come through for many years in support of families who are struggling this time of year.

Roundup Christmas Food Basket Program is not affiliated with or organized by any specific organization. It is a stand-alone program whose origin dates back decades. This year, the Christmas Food Baskets will be distributed on Friday, December 20th, 2019. Many volunteers are needed to organize and prepare the boxes on Thursday, December 19th, 2019. Volunteers meet at the Masonic Hall on Main Street at approximately 9:00 a.m. and set to work counting and filling boxes. Some lifting is involved, so it is great to work as a team to get everything arranged. Volunteers may contact Cindi at (406) 860-1577 or 323-1242 with questions.

In years past, a separate organization has coordinated a cookie donation drive to provide a plate of holiday cookies with each Christmas Food Basket. Unfortunately, this year, no one has stepped forward to take on this role. If an individual or organization is interested, please give Cindi a call to discuss the specifics!
