Sept 5 - Twenty-three members, and four take-out orders enjoyed Goulash, Coleslaw, melons, relishes, and Poke Cake for lunch. Honor Society kids will be here next week to play games and socialize with our seniors. Gary and Linda brought zucchini to seniors and Bonnie Manuel brought apples, courtesy of Race Foster, for anyone to take.

Mary Meserve won the 50/50 for $7.00. Jess reported on the pitchfork fondue Harvest dinner coming up on September 22. It is for the Petroleum County Community Center. Tickets are still available. The local Lions Club is raffling off a new side by side. Tickets for that are also still available. The drawing will be November 1. Contact any Lions member to purchase your tickets.

Work is being done to recognize Flatwillow Hall as a National Historic Building. Laura Nowlin and a historian friend of hers have been here talking to Flatwillow Hall board members, taking pictures, and reading up on the history of the hall. That will be exciting.

After lunch was finished, all the dishes were done, and clean-up finished, several tables of cards were played.

Sept 12 - Today’s menu is Polish sausage, mashed potatoes, carrots and cabbage, and fruit dessert. There were twenty-five seniors in attendance, and four take-out meals. Bill Meneger brought tomatoes from his garden to give away. The flu vaccines scheduled for Oct 10 is not the right vaccine. If the correct vaccine doesn’t arrive in time, the flu clinic will be postponed and rescheduled. Peggy Nelson, the postmaster from Grass Range, had major surgery. She had gall stones in her liver. There will be health fair on September 14 in Roundup. It is free and starts at 9am.

Joan has some words of wisdom for everyone. “Don’t step on the dog leash when trying to catch the dog”. She did that, fell down, and ended up in the ER where they glued a cut above her eye and checked her bruises. She is doing fine, just bruised and sore from her fall. Tom Iverson told about bats in the house. Ultra-sonic detectors worked great to get rid of them. They work to get rid of mice, too.

Cards were played when clean-up was finished.

Sept 19 - Four take-out orders and twenty-six members had tater tot casserole, broccoli raisin salad, fresh rolls, beets, and apple crisp. Guests were Roy and Janet Myers, Pat Hale, and Donna Lund’s sister Anita visiting from Oregon.

Flu shots are scheduled for October 10. The right vaccine did arrive. They will be at seniors from 10 to noon on and at the school from 1 to 3. Mary Meserve won the 50/50 for $7. Luann talked about the start up of Bingo in October. PIE is selling stadium seats that have both the Ranger and Ram logos on them.

Phil Iverson had a 4 wheeler wreck. He was in the hospital for 4 days but is home recovering now. Dishes were done, tables were cleaned, and cards were played. Have a great day.

Sept 26 - Today is birthday celebration day. Twenty-five members and four take-out orders enjoyed oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes and milk gravy, fresh salad, cranberries, birthday cake and ice cream for dessert. Mert won the 50/50 for $6.50.

Gary and Linda Gershmel attended the Governor’s Conference on Aging. Homecoming is this week There was a recap of the Harvest Dinner. Cards were played after chores were finished. September is almost over. Welcome to October. See you next week.
