October 16, 2019

GLENDIVE, MONT. - October 10, 2019 - The Dawson Community College Enrollment Management Department will host two events in October for prospective students. Buccaneer Day will be held on Monday, October 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Tuesday, October 29, a Nontraditional Student Open House will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in DCC’s Jane Carey Memorial Library.

All high school seniors, juniors, and parents of prospective students are invited to experience a day in the life of a DCC student on Buccaneer Day. This event includes an academic services fair, a campus tour, classroom experiences, a lunchtime student panel, and time to learn about academic and extracurricular program from advisors and coaches. Additionally, Buccaneer Day attendees are entered to win a $250 scholarship.

“We look forward to meeting future Buccaneers and introducing them to life at Dawson Community College in Glendive,” said Sarah North Wolfe, Associate Director of Enrollment Management. “I want to invite anyone who is interested to come be a Buccaneer for a day.”

Buccaneer Day is a free event, however, anyone interested must register prior to attending. Students can register at http://www.dawson.edu/visit.

The Nontraditional Student Open House is also a free event and is open to anyone who identifies as a prospective nontraditional student. Nontraditional students may be individuals who work full-time, plan on attending school-part time, have dependents other than a spouse, are over the age of 25, or are financially independent for financial aid reasons. DCC staff will be available at the Nontraditional Student Open House to provide information and answer questions about enrollment, programs, financial aid, and student services.

“We value our nontraditional students and want to ensure they feel connected to our staff and campus and have all the information and assistance necessary to succeed,” North Wolfe said.
