After six months of contracting with insurance companies, Roundup Family Pharmacy is finally able to process most major insurance plans, including CVS Caremark, Aetna, and SilverScript Plans.

Roundup Family Pharmacy has been waiting since they opened in April for Caremark to finalize their insurance contract. Last week Caremark finalized the contract and now all Caremark and SilverScript plans available to be processed at Roundup Family Pharmacy. All Aetna plans can now be processed as well, with the exception of one of their plans. Unfortunately, the pharmacy was unable to accept one of Aetna’s Medicare Part D plans because the insurance company was not paying enough to cover the cost of medications.

“We’re happy to have this agonizing process behind us so we can focus our time on serving the Roundup community,” said co-owner Greg Ziegler, “and we are extremely grateful for everyone’s patience for an issue we were unable to control.”

Ziegler encourages anyone who currently fills their prescriptions out of town or through mail order to contact the pharmacy during regular business hours and their staff will work with you to get your medications refilled locally in Roundup. The pharmacy offers delivery options and is able to fill a 90 day supply for most medications under several insurance plans, combining the convenience of a mail order pharmacy with the care and charm of a small town business.

To assist the Roundup community further, Roundup Family Pharmacy will be offering free and unbiased personal Medicare Part D reviews. Open enrollment for Medicare Part D plans begins on October 15th and goes until December 7th. Their experienced pharmacists will compare different plans based on premiums, deductibles, and copay amounts tailored to patients’ specific medication lists. Choosing the right plan can be a confusing process and the pharmacy staff wants to help their patients find the best plan to fit their individual needs.
