A semi truck hauling a wind generator blade

A semi truck hauling a wind generator blade became stuck at the intersection of Main Street and Eighth Avenue for about an hour Thursday morning. These blades, built in Texas, are on their way to Geyser Montana. They are longer than the ones that have passed through Roundup before making clearance with telephone poles, signs and the Big Sky Motel building at the intersection very tight. With some maneuvering, the first truck, measuring a bit over 230 feet from the front bumper to the end of the generator blade eventually made the turn. However, the next truck was even longer. Northwestern Energy was consulted about removing a power pole to allow the other trucks to negotiate the turn.
